Summer Reading List: Love Stories
I don't read romance novels, but I do enjoy a really good love story. I don't know if it's because summer is in the air, but a lot of the books on my reading list this season have a little something to do with love. Here's what I'll be diving into on those lazy summer days in the sun.
When In French: Love In A Second Language by Lauren Collins
A friend recommended this book to me and I was instantly intrigued. Maybe it's because I'm bilingual and my parents both speak three languages, but I've always been interested in love across language barriers. My friend said this was a compelling but easy read, making it perfect for summer.
Juliet's Answer: One Man's Search for Love and the Elusive Cure for Heartbreak by Glenn Dixon
This book also came to me by personal recommendation. I'm particularly interested because this is a memoir about love written by a man, which isn't nearly as common. Dixon spent time in Verona answering letters addressed to Shakespeare's Juliet, making this book one part travelogue and one part love story.
Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton
I'm realizing now that every single both on this list was recommended to me by someone I highly respect. Love Warrior is a #1 New York Times Bestselling memoir on hitting rock-bottom in love.
What's on your reading list this season? Have you read any of these titles?
