Every year when a new season rolls around I realize I'm totally unprepared for the suddenly changing weather. Sure, I have many pieces that carry over from past years, but there are always a few essentials missing from my closet when a new season arrives. To help make sure we're all fully kitted out for the warming weather, here is my round-up of spring essentials.
One thing I'm missing this year now that the spring rains have arrived is a good water-resistant trench coat. A casual spring jacket for transition weather is also essential. A denim jacket or leather moto jacket are both classic options that can carry over from year to year.
Soft blush pink is one of this year's biggest spring colour trends. I'm not much of a pink person but I've found some fun ways to incorporate this fashion fad with discreet accessories. Statement sunglasses can add a pop of colour and a patterned scarf is always great to have on hand if the spring weather takes a turn. It seems like every year I have to buy a new umbrella for this season, and this one with pink accents is a great way to add some colourful fun to a basic essential.
After spending months in nothing but winter boots, spring is usually when I need to pick up a couple new pairs of shoes. This year I've got my eye on these super-trendy Gucci loafers which are great for everyday wear. Wedge espadrilles are a classic spring favourite of mine since they can be dressed up or down and transition well into the summer months. Finally, I can't get through spring without a good pair of waterproof boots. I found this great pair of Chelsea boots which are designed to be worn on rainy days without sacrificing your sense of style.
