Plan With Me: January
Hello and Happy New Year! There is nothing quite like waking up to a fresh start! In anticipation of making this year the best one yet, I've (of course) been relying on my bullet journal. To help you find some inspiration and to start 2018 off on the right foot, here's a peak at my January monthly spread.
Since it's very cold and snowy here in Toronto a wintery snowflake theme seemed like the perfect choice. The accent colour this month was done with my Tombow Dual Brush Pen #451 which comes in their Pastel Set. It's quite subtle, but I like it and it does show up more in person than on camera.
For the first time I've thought to include a little calendar on my brain dump page and I don't know why I've never done it before! I think it will be really helpful to be able to reference a traditional calendar opposite my vertical monthly log.
I'm really pushing myself with my habit tracker this month and am tracking more things than ever before. I sort of fell off the habit-tracking wagon in December and I figure the new year is a great time to push myself a little bit.
I've been practicing my calligraphy and hand-lettering over the holidays so I had fun adding a decorative quote to fill the blank space on this spread. FULL DISCLAIMER: I copied both the quote and the design from here. I can't take any credit for it and I really appreciate other Bullet Journalists who share their designs so that I can practice and improve my hand lettering by following their example.
The main addition to my weekly spreads this year is that I'm going to start tracking my work hours. Since I am self-employed and work from home, it can be easy for the time to slip away and I want to make sure I'm maximizing both my productivity and my income potential. I didn't add any colour to this page yet since the time trackers will be filled in with the same blue brush pen.
I've also gotten rid of my journaling page and have instead left more room under each daily header so that I can include a few lines a day of reflection right in this layout. I think that having everything in one place will make me more likely to keep up with my journaling.
And that's it! Just three double-page spreads for the new year. I learned a lot in the last year about what works for me in my Bullet Journal so 2018 has been all about simplifying and streamlining the process.
What do you have planned for January or for 2018 in general?
