This month was a mix of discovering new products and falling back in love with some old favourites. Since I spent half the month living out of my suitcase, I really had to think carefully about what products I couldn't live without while away from home.
MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul - This is the first blush I ever bought when I was fifteen or sixteen and really started experimenting with makeup. After over ten years, I maintain that this is the perfect rosy-bronze blush for fair-skined girls. I've repurchased it countless times and fell back in love with it this month. If I could only take one blush with me to a desert island, it would be this one.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - I'd heard about the magical cleansing properties of micellar water a lot recently so I was thrilled when this arrived in my January Topbox. A bit of this on a cotton pad sweeps off all my makeup and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and healthy. Plus it's a major bargain at only $8.99 for a 13.5 oz bottle
MaskerAide Spotted! Clear Spot Patches - Another Topbox introduction, these spot patches are clear little stickers you can pop on a blemish overnight. When you wake up in the morning and peel them off, you'll see a visible reduction in the size and redness of any breakouts. I tend to break out a bit more when I'm travelling, so a little pack of these is my new go-to.
Moleskin Volant Collection Notebook - When I was in New York City I discovered a writer's mecca: The Moleskin Store. Here in Toronto Moleskin notebooks are sold all over the place, but I've never seen a store devoted entirely to their products. I've always loved Moleskin but since I was travelling and didn't want to weigh down my suitcase, I tried a new style of notebook from the Volant Collection. These super-thin soft cover notebooks are now my new favourites! They're so light and small that they're easy to pop in my handbag so I can jot down any inspirations I get when I'm on the go.
Even though I'm now back at home and won't be travelling again for a few weeks, I'm still using everything on this list on the regular.
What have you been loving this January?
