Hi, I'm Nellwyn!

December: one of my favourite months of the year. I absolutely love the holiday season. I'm so excited to get out of the city, take some time off, and see my family. Plus, I'm really excited to see everyone open their presents this year. I bought almost all of my gifts in November and I'm just dying to see them opened! Watching people open presents is one of my favourite parts of the holidays... But while we count down the days until Christmas, here's a recap of my December so far.

Reading: I'm diligently still making my way through my back issues of Vanity Fair. I've almost finished the November issue now so I'm pretty close to being caught up before the new year brings more magazines into my mailbox. I told myself at the beginning of this month that I would devote more time to reading but I haven't really been very good about that...

Watching: My favourite Christmas classics! When I visited my mom last week to help decorate the Christmas tree we spend the evening with one of our all-time favourites: White Christmas. Next up I've got plans to watch the classic claymation Rudolph and, of course, Love Actually. I love revising those three favourites every year.

Listening to: Other than Christmas music, I've been really into a podcast called Rex Factor. In the first season, each episode is devoted to the life and times of one English monarch and the second season is much the same but covers the kings and queens of Scots. But this isn't your usual history podcast. First of all, it's hilarious. The hosts have made me laugh out loud multiple times and they're incredibly skilled at making history fun and interesting. Plus, each episode has a review portion where they rate and score each monarch and pit them against each other in a historical battle royale.

Working on: Very little! I've finished the semester and have done all my prep for my school trip in January. I've also written four weeks ahead on my freelance articles so that I can relax and enjoy a couple weeks off during the holidays. I'm really proud of myself for pushing through with work and being organized enough to get ahead so that I can have a stress-free holiday.

Dreaming of: Christmas! I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I've been so bogged down in work over the last few months that I haven't kept up with them as much as I would like. I can't wait to be at home in front of the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate and catching up with my loved ones...

... That being said, I've only got two more posts coming this month. I'm really going to try to unplug over the holidays and take a real break. So I've got one more post coming this week before I head home for Christmas, and the last post of 2016 will be up in the week after Boxing Day. I hope you all get to have a restful and happy holiday whether you're celebrating Christmas or just enjoying the time off work. :)
