I had only been in Halifax for a couple days when I heard about the "World's Best Lobster Roll." From the sounds of it, visitors to Halifax look forward to this Lobster Roll all year long. Nestled among the many booths and stalls at the Halifax Seaport Farmer's Market is the nondescript Goldwater Lobster Shack, home of the best Lobster Roll on the planet.
It's not fancy, but the bread is homemade and the lobster is fresh and flavourful.
There's just one item on the menu served with your choice of chips, daily salad, or watermelon slices.
Big, juicy pieces of lobster tossed with just enough mayo and stuffed inside a grilled bun.
I think this one deserves a close-up...
Make sure you stop by the Seaport Farmer's Market the next time you're in Halifax. The Lobster Roll is a must, but it's also a great place to pick up some gifts or souvenirs made by local artists. Plus, as the longest continuously running market in North America, you'll also experience a little piece of history.
