Last week I did three things I don't do that often. #1: I went out for dinner in Yorkville. #2: I went for Italian food. #3: I ordered pasta.
Turns out, I love Italian, I love pasta, and I love Café Nervosa in Yorkville.
Tucked into a converted house on Yorkville Ave., and featuring a heated rooftop patio, Café Nervosa offers traditional Italian pizzas, pastas, and more.
We started with kale salad tossed in a lemon vinaigrette and served with dried currents, pine nuts, and shaved pecorino cheese.
I might have been starving and dug into the salad before taking out my camera...
If you're going to break any low-carb kick you might be on, this is the place to do it! After all, when in Rome...
Mafalde ai Funghi. Portobello, porchini, crimini, and oyster mushrooms with truffle paste in a delicious cream sauce. If you're a mushroom fan like me, this is a dish that can't be missed!
Spaghetti alla Chitarra con Vongole e Gamberi. Spaghetti with shrimp and clams in a white wine, garlic, and tomato sauce garnished with microgreens and cherry tomatoes. I loved that the seafood was all de-shelled in advance so that I could enjoy my meal without having to do any work! Another thing I liked about this dish is that the flavour of the seafood was laced all throughout the sauce.
If you're in the mood for pasta or craving traditional Italian cuisine, then Café Nervosa is worth a trip. I know it's definitely got me in the mood to order pasta much more often!
