A certain someone once told me that these were the best brownies he'd ever had... He may have been slightly biased in my favour, but I can promise you that these are also the best brownies I've ever had. And I've eaten a lot of deserts...

Want to decide for yourself? I don't blame you! To make "The Best Brownies I've Ever Had" you'll need:

1/2 cup butter

2 squares (2 ounces) unsweetened baking chocolate

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup flour

That's it! You won't believe how simple these are to make. This recipe is probably one of the easiest in my baking arsenal. I've been known to whip them up on a whim just to satisfy a late night chocolate craving...

To begin: Melt the butter & chocolate over low heat. Stir occasionally to make sure it doesn't boil or burn.

Once it's all melty, take it off the heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

Once that's all mixed together, stir in the flour. Make sure not to over-mix the batter at any point. You can also throw in some walnuts or pecans with the flour if you're so inclined. I myself prefer to let nothing stand in the way of chocolate!

Pour it all into a greased and floured baking pan. (an 8"x8"x2" pan is perfect) Bake at 350F for 30 min.

NOTE: I use a convection oven so these cook perfectly in just 15 min. When in doubt, bake until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
