Eye-Catching: December 2014 (Part 1)
This month I'm doing a twist on my usual style feature and have put together four complete outfits for this holiday season. Here are the first two to get you started...
This green lace dress is conservative enough for a work party without being boring or frumpy. The rich colour and chic cut are both professional and stylish. But since it is a party, let's add a statement piece to shake things up. This chain-link necklace is tough and bold to contrast all that demure lace. Neutral shoes keep the focus up on your dazzling personality and a colour-block clutch ties everything all together.
New Year's Eve is the one night a year when I feel like it's absolutely appropriate to wear something sparkly from head to toe. As I've mentioned before wine red is my favourite colour for this year's colder months and it's such a fun departure from my usual evening look of all-black-everything. The loose cut of this dress and short skirt make it feel fun, youthful, and trendy. To keep the focus on the dress and to avoid looking like a disco-ball gone wrong, I've paired it with neutral shoes and accessories. Besides, I can't help wearing at least a little black to a midnight party. Instead of piling on the jewellery, why not go with a bold watch to make a more subtle statement. After all, when it comes to New Year's Eve, timing is everything.
Stay tuned for my next two outfits for this holiday season, and in the meantime, what festive styles are you coveting this year?
